For clients who are unsure whether or not an appraisal for any or part of their art collection is necessary or worthwhile, I offer a walk-through service. At this time I view the collection with the client, and discuss the valuation options available and what a client might expect to pay in each case. If the consultation results in an appraisal assignment you will receive a credit. Payment is due at the time of service.

The cost of a formal written appraisal includes the expertise and time necessary for a thorough inspection of each item, photography, market research and analysis, and the preparation of an unbiased independent conclusion of value in a written report. The appraisal will be bound in duplicate and prepared to industry standards. Appraisal projects can require 2-4 hours per item. An estimate will be provided after an initial consultation with the client regarding the purpose of the appraisal and a preliminary inspection of the items involves. I keep accurate logs and provide an itemized accounting on the invoice. Note: A retainer of ½ the estimated high-end fee is required upon the acceptance of the contract.
$25/item
When a formal appraisal is not warranted, I can provide a Professional Opinion of Value (POV) in place of a formal written appraisal. This valuation service does not follow the accepted, formal appraisal standards. A POV is good for those who desire the general value of an item (expressed as a range) to help you decide how to treat an item for the purpose of resale or restoration. POV is not valid for insurance or legal functions. Again, a POV is not an appraisal, but an economical valuation service. I offer discounts for 10 or more items.

I provide art brokerage services for select high quality works of Art. I will act as a sales agent for you to find the best venue for sale, or as a purchasing agent to obtain the art you desire at the best possible price. I charge a flat percentage of the sales price for brokerage services. The client will be responsible for any related expenses, such as crating, shipping, and insurance when applicable.
Travel expenses for assignments outside of the Midland-Odessa area will be billed a rate of .55 cents per mile plus reimbursement for hotel and/or meals. The actual cost of postage, copying and binding appraisal reports will be billed to the client per the terms of the contract.
Cash or personal check. I do not accept credit cards.
New fees are effective as of April 15, 2013.
